Sinopec Shanghai Petrochemical Co., Ltd.(hereinafter referred to as SPC) has been earnestly implementing the principles and policies of the CPC Central Committee, the State Council and local governments, strictly implementing the work arrangements of Sinopec Corporation, and attaching great importance to environmental protection since its establishment. The Company has passed the ISO14001 environmental management system certification and was awarded the title of ‘Chinese Environmentally Friendly Enterprises’ by All-China Environment Federation, takes the construction of “resource-saving and environmental-friendly enterprises" as the goal of the Company, and actively carries out green and low-carbon, clean production, water conservation and emission reduction, and the development of circular economy, etc.
In recent years, the Company has actively implemented the ecological civilization thought of General Secretary, Mr. Xi Jinping, firmly established the green development concept of “Green Water and Green Mountains are as good as mountains of gold and silver”, resolutely fought the battle against pollution and created a green and image of petrochemical enterprises.
SPC experienced six phases of large-scale centralized construction from the reclamation of the coastal area along the Hangzhou Bay to the completion and commissioning of the Phase VI Project in 2012. With the continuous expansion of the production scale, all kinds of pollutants meet the emission standards, the total amount of emissions meet the requirements of the government control, and shows a downward trend year by year, ensuring the sustainable development of the company.
SPC always pays attention to building up a good image of the Company, actively fulfill its social responsibilities. In 2010, the Company was awarded the title of ‘China Environmentally Friendly Enterprise’ by All-China Environment Protection Federation, and it was awarded the title of ‘National Civilized Unit’ and ‘National Advanced Unit of Petrochemical Environmental Protection’ in 2011, and from 2019 to 2020, it won the title of ‘Sinopec Green Enterprise’.
